Hi Everyone, I'm visiting my sister and brother in law, Paula and Mike. All my family came to see them too, including my son's girlfriend Lauren. I'm using her laptop which has wireless internet.

It accessed the hospital service and so I'm reading up on what's happening. So, they are getting great care here at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Tulsa. We had a great meal in the cafeteria, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Maybe we will have time to run by International Luthier's Supply and check them out. Anyway, enjoying some time with the family. Time for the hospital tour. See ya, Bruce

Bruce,

My thoughts are with you; and please know that Paula and Mike will be in my prayers. Hopefully with the great care they're getting, your support, and the grace of God, recovery will be speedy and complete.

Hang in there, Bruce.

I'm glad you're there to support them Bruce.
They're in my prayers, and I'm sure the rest of the OLFer's prayers as well.

Bruce,
Can you tell us what Mike's status is? I know you had said it was inoperable, but I'm praying for a miracle...and they do happen...only God knows when. It's great to see that your family is so together for him. I think it's safe to say that you can send regards from all of us at the OLF.

And to everyone, tragedies like Mike's diagnosis are what put life in perspective. I hope you are all enjoying what you are doing and "take time to smell the roses."

Craig

Bruce,

My family and I are holding up Mike and Paula and the rest of your family in our prayers. Besides praying for God's healing touch, through the doctors and all of those involved in the treatment, I am praying for Mike and Paula that God's grace and peace be with them in a special way.

For Mike and Paula, God brought them together for each other for this place and time as with all of the emotions, procedures and waiting for information, their bond will help them through this together. In the midst of all this I pray that a sense of Grace and Peace will be there to strengthen them. I hope that it is comforting to them that there are people all over caring and praying for them.

Shawn

Thanks everyone. We have really seen Mike and Paula get on the stick toward beating this cancer. The literature gives unattactive statistics. They do not operate. Generally they give mostly radiation to slow the growth of the tumor which is part and parcel to the brain.

In Mike's case he is in a first class facility, and everyone there is very upbeat and positive. It would be nice if that were enough. So, medically, they are being agressive, with not only radiation, but chemo, and heavy on the diet and education regarding foods which help and hurt. I'm so proud of them and the fact they are up, not down, with their situation.

Then there is the spiritual side of things. Prayer and simply stopping to read scriptures and actually listening to what the ancient writings are saying. They are plowing new territory in their lives. The support they are getting from so many they don't know who hear about their plight is tremendously encouraging to them and the rest of the family.

It just seemed right to come to Oklahoma for a few days, they are always rushed every weekend to try and take care of their trucking business and see to two farms.

Mike's diagnosis is a glioblastoma brain tumor. Medically they are moving into a short time of ending treatment, and checking results. Treatment began July 5th, so now they evaluate and I'll pass on the results.

Thanks so much to everyone expressing concern and prayers toward Mike and Paula. It means so much to them to hear these reports. Will keep you posted, Bruce

Bruce

I just saw this for the first time. Took time out to ask the Lord for these folks to have peace and perserverance, for the task at hand. Tough go that cancer. I will try and remember to pray as often as possible for them. Please keep us posted. Glad you could go and be there as a support for the family. May God give you wisdom and gentleness in your conversations. Keep them looking for that City to come and it's Maker. God Bless.

Ron

Dale, you are right. And he fixes more than cancer....

You guys are great. My family is encouraged to face this difficulty head-on, using every weapon available.
